RELEASED.
NOT
FINISHED.

Charles Hagan — documenting the journey back, and building the exact system that's helping others make theirs.

Keep Scrolling

Every comeback starts at rock bottom.

Here's exactly what happened when it ended — and the system that got built from it.

SCROLL
The Story

I lost my identity the day football did.

After being released from professional football, I lost direction, confidence and identity. The game had been the only thing I knew how to be.

What followed wasn't motivation — motivation fades. It was a framework: the exact system I used to rebuild myself mentally, physically and professionally, one rep and one hard decision at a time.

Now I document the journey back, and I coach the same system to players fighting to rebuild theirs.

Chapter One

Why I got released

Three clubs. Three different reasons. The same result.

Chelsea — age 13 to 16

My first heartbreak. They told me straight — nothing to do with my level, just pathways. The player above me in my position was Tariq Lamptey; the player below me was Tino Livramento. Both play in the Premier League right now. Nothing I could really say to that.

Sheffield Wednesday — 4 years

Two of them as a pro. They told me they couldn't see me fully breaking into the first team. Released alongside 14 other players in the same window. Once again, nothing I could do.

Wycombe Wanderers

A season wiped out by injury. I had a real relationship with the manager — then a new one came in who'd never seen me play. Off you go: contract not renewed.

Sometimes it's your ability. Sometimes it isn't. One thing is definitely a fact — the harder you work, the luckier you get.

Real Pathway, Not Theory

Built on academy and first-team football environments.

Every principle in the system comes from methods, structures and standards developed inside professional football — at Wycombe Wanderers and beyond. This isn't generic fitness advice. It's what actually gets used behind closed doors.

The Method

Three pillars.
One comeback.

The same structure inside every program — mindset first, then a system to train with intention, then the physical comeback itself.

01

Mindset

The mindset shift, rebuilding self-trust, escaping the dopamine trap, building conviction, and handling rejection — the internal work most players skip.

02

The System

A 90-day structure to train with intention and study football the way a professional does — not just harder, more deliberately.

03

The Comeback

Conditioning, technical sharpness, speed, strength and recovery — the physical rebuild, structured like an academy program.
